How can counselling help?
Counselling gives you the opportunity to talk about your problems, difficulties and anxieties in a safe space. Counsellors listen without criticising, judging or rejecting. Counselling gives you time to reflect, explore and understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and how you relate to others.
Early experiences are important in how we come to see ourselves today. You will be able to explore your personal history and think about how it relates to where you are now.
Counsellors will not give direct advice but will help you to find your own answers and to develop more effective ways of coping with everyday life and feelings.
All our counsellors are carefully selected. They are either fully trained, or in the final years of training and work under highly qualified professional supervisors.
They practice within the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), of which Croydon Counselling Foundation is an accredited member.
Everything you discuss with a Croydon Counseling Foundation counsellor is confidential to the service as outlined by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Your assessment counsellor will discuss our confidentiality policy with you in more depth.
